Europe’s newest currency – the HRSTKA – has now been launched at Dr. Hrstka’s cottage! Besides accepting all the usual boring old means of payment (Czech Crowns, Euros, Polish Zlotys, Cheque Déjeuner luncheon vouchers), the cottage now issues its own private currency. The Hrstka is a highly exclusive currency, reserved for the world’s most discerning travellers – in fact it’s only valid in the cottage itself and in the open courtyard next to it. If you are one of the lucky few who have Hrstkas in your pocket, you can use them to pay for any of the excellent local specialities on offer at the cottage restaurant – according to the current Exchange Rate. There are three types of Hrstka notes (1, 2 and 5 Hrstkas) – and according to the Hrstka National Bank, they are impossible to forge!
